Piper J-3 Cub
Another staple of flight instruction for many decades, the Piper Cub is an ideal aircraft for many purposes. Its economy and flexibility make it perfect for learning the ins and outs of basic FAR 61 flight operations as well as essential bush flying concepts.

Diamond DA-40 Diamond Star

The new addition to our fleet is the DA-40 from Diamond. This aircraft is equipped with a constant-speed propeller and a G1000 glass cockpit. It is both an economical way to achieve great performance and an excellent way to learn the ins and outs of modern glass-cockpit technology.

FAA-approved Flight Simulator
PFC CR-12 AATD
In addition to these aircraft, VFA offers instruction on an advanced CR-12 simulator training device from Precision Flight Controls, Inc. With this simulator, students have opportunities for a range of FAA flight hour credits, financial savings, and advanced scenario-based training.
The AATD time may be logged and credited towards training for: Private Pilot, Instrument Rating, Commercial Pilot, and ATP. It may also be applied towards currency and IPC requirements. (We are currently apply for FAR 141 authorization for this AATD - and hope to have it by the end of January 2011.)
The CR-12 is an advanced simulator offering 18 different aircraft for training. The available aircraft include popular single- and multi-engine aircraft from Cessna, Piper, Beech, Mooney, and Diamond. Throttle quadrants are interchangeable in just seconds - start your multi-engine training today at huge savings!
Training in the CR-12 is highly customizable to match student needs. From local procedures - to IFR cross-countries - to non-precision circling approaches - the options are numerous.
