Discovery and Scenic Flights
As an FAA approved scenic and discovery flight operator, Vermont Flight Academy can share the thrills and beauties of aviation with you in a way that many people rarely experience. Join us as we fly over the mountains and lakes of Northern Vermont. As peak foliage season quickly approaches, an aerial view is the best way to see the colors developing all over the countryside.
Discovery Flights
Discovery Flights are where you learn what a flight lesson is like and can actually log your first flight as a student pilot. This consist of 45 min ground lesson time and about one hour of flying.
Discovery Flight Rates
We charge $160 - $250 an hour for a discovery flight. The cost is dependent on the aircraft that you take.
Scenic Flight Rates
We are currently charging $160 - $185 an hour for scenic flying. Our aircraft can take up to three people at a time (dependent on specifics of the flight desired). You can take as many people as you would like that will fit in the aircraft selected and keep it within the weight and balance of the aircraft.
Our staff of highly qualified pilots and aviation professionals will be glad to discuss the specifics of any scenic flight you might like to plan in the area. Please contact us with any questions or ideas you may have. We are also happy to provide gift certificates - give your friends and family the gift of a lifetime and treat them to a scenic flight over some of the most beautiful landscapes around.
Example Scenic Flight Plans:
- Stowe Leaf Tour - Fall colors are already well developed in the Green Mountains. Join us on a scenic tour in the vicinity of Camel's Hump and Mount Mansfield.
- Island Tour - While the leaves wait a bit longer at the lower elevations, the islands of northern Lake Champlain are always beautiful to explore.
- Dawn/Dusk - Sunrise and sunset are always a beautiful way to take in the sights of the land from above. Watch as the long shadows and gold highlights accentuate all of the beauty of the terrain and fall colors.
